FAQs
Questions couples often ask

Do you officiate weddings for couples from different spiritual backgrounds?
Yes. As a pastor, I officiate ceremonies that are grounded in Christian faith while being warm, respectful, and welcoming to couples from a variety of spiritual backgrounds. My goal is to create a ceremony that feels meaningful and authentic, without being rigid or impersonal.
How personalized is the ceremony?
Very. I take time to get to know you as a couple and craft a ceremony that reflects your relationship, tone, and hopes for marriage. No two ceremonies are the same.
How many times will we meet before the wedding?
As many times as needed for you to feel comfortable and prepared. Some couples want one or two conversations; others prefer more time together. I’m flexible and relational in my approach.
Do you help us write our vows?
Absolutely. I’m happy to guide you through writing personal vows, offer prompts or examples, or help refine what you’ve written so it sounds authentic and heartfelt.
Will you attend or lead the rehearsal?
If you want me to, yes. Rehearsals can be included depending on your needs and location. We’ll talk through expectations ahead of time so everyone feels confident going into the wedding day.
What is your pricing and what does it depend on?
Officiant services range from $500–$1,500 and are based on the scope of the ceremony, time involved, and location. I’m always transparent and clear about pricing before moving forward.
Do you offer pre-marital counseling?
Yes. I offer pre-marital counseling for couples who want to invest intentionally in their relationship as they prepare for marriage. This can be booked on its own or alongside officiant services.
Have you officiated weddings at beaches, vineyards, or private homes?
Yes. I’ve officiated weddings throughout Santa Barbara at a wide range of locations and am comfortable adapting ceremonies to different settings and environments.
Are you legally able to officiate weddings in California?
Yes. I am legally authorized to officiate weddings in California and will guide you through any necessary paperwork.
How far in advance should we book?
Dates fill up, especially during peak wedding season in Santa Barbara. I recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date and location secured.
